About this deal

Our partnership with R&R has been very successful. We are delighted to have supported the company in achieving significant growth since our investment in 2006 and an enhanced market position. The company today is a leader in its sector and is well-positioned for future growth. We wish R&R every success in its new relationship with PAI.” PAI Partners will support R&R through its next phase of growth, investing in the expansion of the company’s international footprint and renowned consumer brands. Nina Fortune, Design Director, adds: “The yoomoo brand is all about personality. Our challenge was to ensure that this brand personality was retained in the take-home range whilst creating standout in the freezer cabinet and communicating yoomoo’s low fat, healthier offering.”

Defrost the frozen fruit (take out strawberries and they contain too much water and become too mushy). There are a host of frozen yoghurt brands vying for a share of this growing market, including Snog, Yog (which has a take-home version already available in Waitrose), Ben & Jerry’s and Yeo Valley. A brief history of frozen yoghurtRather, spoon of a little sauce into a small bowl or ramekin. Add the cornflour, and mix to a smooth paste. Heat the defrosted fruit in a saucepan, and add the water. After the mixture has warmed through, spoon off some liquid into a small bowl and add the cornflour. During the week, who has time for a studied, relaxed breakfast? Not me, and I would think that I’m far from alone! And while I do like to spend a bit more time preparing weekend breakfasts, I don’t go mad: I want something tasty, that looks good, that really marks out the weekend as different from the working week, but not so over the top that takes ages in the kitchen. A sundae is perfect for that. Commenting on the project Joanna Buist, Account Manager, said: “The yoomoo brand has established its roots over the last two years and is now one of the leading frozen yogurt brands in the UK. The recent boom in frozen yogurt retailers has opened the category up to a wider audience creating a huge opportunity for the brand in take-home as well.” Apr 2013 PAI Partners ("PAI") today announced the acquisition of R&R Ice Cream Plc ("R&R"), a leading European ice cream manufacturer with a strong portfolio of own-label and branded products, from funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. ("Oaktree") and the other shareholders of R&R for an undisclosed sum. The transaction is subject to certain regulatory approvals and financing conditions. R&R's senior management team will continue to lead the business and are investing in the company.

The consumer sector is one of PAI’s core target areas for investment, having successfully invested in leading food and consumer businesses including: Yoplait, one of the top 20 global consumer brands; United Biscuits, the largest biscuits manufacturer in the UK; and Chr. Hansen, a leading food ingredients supplier. This dish is dinner party worth but also perfect to serve on date night or for casual dining with friends. Do you love frozen yoghurt? Or is it just a fad? And who makes the best 'fro-yo'? Let us know in the Comments section below.

Eating a sundae with ice cream first thing would really be a bit too rich, so I’ve gone for the low fat and lower calorie option of yoomoo frozen yogurt. It’s really tasty, and available in vanilla and strawberry flavours so you can mix and match the sundae according to how you’re feeling. The strawberry flavour is swirled with strawberry sauce, both looks and tastes great. We really love the texture of this fro-yo: light and fluffy. yoomoo is also available as frozen lollies, in mixed berry, strawberry and tropical flavours. Now one of those would really be a breakfast with a difference!
