The fountain pen is available in the nib sizes fine (F) and medium (M) and comes with a stylish packaging. Colourful German made pocket sized fountain pen by Kaweco, who have been in the writing business since 1884. And this makes sense as the Perkeo is a fairly recent contemporary pen design from Kaweco which exudes youthfulness and enthusiasm. A full sized fountain pen made of tough plastic with a reasonable selection of colours and colour combinations it certainly peaks my interest.Quality control seems (from this sample of one) to be better than on the Sports — I experienced no hard starting or skipping, which suggests no baby’s bottom.

To me, the nib looks small, disproportionately so — even though it’s slightly larger than the unit on the AL Sport. My techniques epitomise the whole ethos of ‘less is more’ and demonstrate how much one can achieve using very little. The only way is ethics Kaweco manufactures primarily in Germany so we have no concerns around labour conditions.

The barrel differs from the cap and also from the round nature of the Sport by having 16 fine facets.

The cap is a snap fit, which is nice and convenient but I found the feel on closing to be a bit… imprecise. The catalogue of the Heidelberg dip pen factory which was later named Kaweco, describes the Perkeo as a convertible fountain pen.The Perkeo has been around for a while with some interesting colour schemes, however recently more colours have been added to the mix as well as a demonstrator finish, which is this pen.
