About this deal

The Rainbow Flag was first designed by artist and activist Gilbert Baker in 1978. He came up with the idea after the assassination of San Francisco mayor George Moscone and supervisor Harvey Milk, two staunch allies of the LGBTQIA+ community. Baker's original design featured eight colors, each with a special meaning to represent inclusivity and acceptance. Over the years, the design was modified and reduced to six colors due to difficulties with fabric dyes. The Pride flag is the most famous and recognized of the LGBTQ+ flags, if not flags in general. Created by Gilbert Baker, it is meant to represent the entire queer community. Originally, the flag featured eight stripes—pink, red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, indigo and violet. Soon after it was made, pink would be dropped and indigo and turquoise would be replaced with blue to make the six-stripe flag that is famous today. Since then, there have been several changes made to the original flag, which now frequently has six rainbow stripes instead of the original eight. The most significant achievement for the community as a whole was the nationwide legalization of same-sex marriage in 2015.

Some people will also add the word “nonbinary” to a more binary gender label to indicate that they experience masculinity or femininity, but in a way that is distinct from binary gender. For example, someone might identify as a nonbinary woman, or as both transmasculine and nonbinary. Transgender (Trans): identifying as any gender different from the sex assigned to one at birth. This term is inclusive of binary trans people, who identify simply as men or women, as well as nonbinary people (though not all nonbinary people choose to identify as trans).

At Chaeronea, Greek liberty, Greek heroism, and Greek love, properly so-called, expired. It is not unworthy of notice that the son of the conqueror, young Alexander, endeavoured to revive the tradition of Achilleian friendship. [...] Homer was his invariable companion upon his marches; in the Troad he paid special honour to the tomb of Achilles, running naked races round the barrow in honour of the hero [...]. The historians of his life relate that, while he was indifferent to women, he was madly given to the love of males. This the story of his sorrow for Hephaistion sufficiently confirms." [6] Gray aromantic/Gray asexual: feeling romantic or sexual attraction only occasionally, not very strongly, or only after certain conditions have been met, or feeling somewhere in-between aromantic and alloromantic or asexual and allosexual.
