About this deal

Image detail is excellent, save for the occasional shot of soft focus, with light organic photochemical grain in evidence at all times. Battlestar Galactica 45th Anniversary 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray, is an upcoming release of the feature-length pilot episode of the 1978 sci-fi series introducing viewers to a band of intergalactic warriors struggling to protect an Earth-bound flotilla against the bloodthirsty Cylons. Actually seeing her topless front = R most of the time, and unsuitable for network TV broadcast in the US. Shorter than the TV version by some 23 minutes, the theatrical feature has the character of Baltar being betrayed and executed by the Cylons, whereas new scenes were shot for the series to show the character’s survival among the Cylons in a new and ongoing role. I really hope they bring the Buck Rogers theatrical film to UHD also, and by all means, please bring us the entire series of both shows.

Firstly, was looking forward to seeing the ravishing Wilma Derring in 4K, only to realise that’s Buck Rogers . In the deepest reaches of space, it is a fight to save all human life from extinction in this sci-fi adventure that launched the Battlestar Galactica phenomenon! They used extensive use of multiple exposures of ships on rods against black combined with camera fly-bys to create multiple Eagles/spaceships in a single shot and the results speak for themselves. They must survive the pursuing Cylons in a series of epic battles that will determine the fate of the human race in this non-stop action-packed classic filled with cutting-edge special effects by Academy Award winner John Dykstra (Star Wars, Spider-Man 2). The film was made for international markets (including the UK) but was eventually shown in American cinemas. To sign the resulting treaty, the Twelve Colonies send their entire fleet of battlestars—great space-based warships that carry squadrons of Viper fighter craft—to meet the Cylons.

I remember a double-feature of Barbarella and The Man Who Fell to Earth airing on The Movie Loft one Saturday night. While some standard shots were of course reused, you were seeing new effects in almost every episode for year one of Buck Rogers. And to give them all hope for the future, Adama looks to the legends of the past, which speak of a lost Thirteenth Colony, a world that—if found—could become their new home. And for those of you who may be wondering what I’m up to review-wise, I’m currently working on film reviews for the first four Star Trek features, as well as David Lynch’s Dune, and Ridley Scott’s Legend, in anticipation of receiving the newly-remastered 4K (and/or Blu-ray) editions of each from Paramount and Arrow Video respectively in the next week or two. Probably tens of thousands of TV episodes of people under the covers supposedly nude and "getting busy" but airing in Primetime. theatrical release framing in mind) using Panavision R200 and Arriflex 35 IIA cameras with Panavision Super Speed MKII spherical lenses. and skin details while various ship interiors present with added definition beyond the Blu-ray's ability.

It will be the 3 part pilot 'Saga of a Star World' edited together that was released as a theatrical movie in certain markets. You are not wrong, in some cases good ole 1080P shows a film better, in some cases the 4k just shows the seams. Dennis has turned in his thoughts on Roger Corman’s The Tomb of Ligeia (1964) on Blu-ray from Kino Lorber Studio Classics and also Emerald Fennell’s Promising Young Woman on Blu-ray from Universal.

I remember how raunchy and risqué Soap was considered to be - and how tepid it is now in comparison. Galactica reused their effects relentlessly throughout the series, though there were some new effects that worked their way in, especially for the big 2-part episodes. An ensemble cast was recruited with both familiar faces, including Greene ( Bonanza), Richard Hatch ( The Streets of San Francisco), and Jane Seymour ( Live and Let Die), as well as relative newcomers like Dirk Benedict (who would later star in The A-Team) and Rick Springfield (years before General Hospital, Hard to Hold, and his career as an MTV pop rock star with hits like Jessie’s Girl). This is also why they went through pains to point out the Cylons were pure robots because of heavy restrictions on violence. It seems for Galactica, most of the effects money was used for the two-parter episodes, of which they made up almost half the series.
