About this deal

To begin with Frost is stuck in a room by herself, until she decides to venture out into the dangerous world, against the advice of the robot / father. It was interesting though, to see that the people still left in this world were either enslaved by a vicious dictator, “Eaters” that couldn’t help but feast on flesh, or other. Frost finds himself drawn into an unsolved crime from the past and risks not only his career, but also his life.

and a bit twee (turns out she was only grumpy because she was lonely, of course) – but I appreciate that that’s not how a child would necessarily see it. And the more time I spend with the seductive king, the harder it becomes to remember it’s all supposed to be fake. She suffers a major blow to her life on the day she meets the king and gives a terrible first impression. But one thing we know about Ava is that she has never been one to back down from a fight and bowing to a king of the people that threw her away like trash is surely one battle she can easily win. He’s experienced it first hand and as a result has had to fight to survive on his own from a very young age.The Seelie Court, Faerie, and its magic are nicely portrayed, making readers feel like they're there too.

Seelie vs Unseelie, a King and a bride; enemies by blood and more foes at both homes to battle with. I will warn you, it is open-ended , which I know is a deal-breaker for some people, but some of my favorite stand-alones, such as Eleanor and Park and Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock held the same fate, but I loved those as well.So turns out, there's not much I liked about it besides the cover and few enjoyable moments of the competition but other than that it wasn't great. I've been on a huge fantasy kick lately, and when I came across this book I had to request it right away.

Luckily, it didn't turn out that way because there actually is something different about her so phew. The suspense of the Eaters grabbed me and the journey Frost embarks on with Romes and her protective robot Bunt sent me on a roller coaster ride that I didn't want to end. This is a thrilling novel, that takes you on a rollercoaster of emotion and leaves you wanting more after each chapter. But with a long list of enemies who might want the bookie dead, the team have got their work cut out for them. And Barrow, his father, who reminded me of a combination between Rick and Glenn, both characters on The Walking Dead. But first the corpse of a well-known local junkie is found blocking the drain of a Denton public lavatory – and then, when Frost attempts to join the revels later on, the nubile daughter of a wealthy businessman is reported missing. As Frost and his team dig deeper, everything seems to lead back to Ivan Fielding’s murky lifetime of misdeeds.
