About this deal

The film is a little patchy, it starts off quite light hearted and played for laughs, and indeed there is an imaginative fart gag that`s worth waiting for.

Two small edge tears on the bottom edge, crease from the left edge center up to the top edge, Otherwise Very Good! They are cut short by Gillon, who notes that his son never entered the ring -– therefore, only nine fights have transpired. It wouldn’t be a complete retro review without mentioning what doesn’t hold through to today’s standards.Caine and Fitz wager Gillon that aging boxer Honey Ray Palmer can outbox any 10 men in a 24-hour period. Diggstown is a small town built on the name of one Charles Macum Diggs, famous boxer now fallen on hard times.

Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). Raging Bull is of course a masterpiece so there is no touching that, but if you are in the mood for a good comedy and just a flat out good movie I recommend it.Believing himself to also be a con man and smarter than most, it’s almost delightful to see him fail. Sam Lester (played by Roger Hewlett), who is secretly given a laxative before the fight and eventually runs from the ring. Caine, not wanting to see his friend die, attempts to throw in the towel, but Palmer catches it and throws it back. A loan shark backs Caine's bet, with the understanding that his health and welfare will be riding on the outcome.

In 'Midnight Sting' (1992), ex-con Gabriel Caine (James Wood) heads for Diggstown, a place where unofficial boxing matches are held for big prize money. James Woods is expertly cast as Gabriel and his ease at playing a hustler is entertaining throughout. Caine and Gillon agree to various conditions of the bet, with “one day” being 24 full hours and “Diggstown fighters” being able to come from any surrounding area of Olivair County. The film is decidedly low budget and simply made, but benefits from a good script and a stellar cast. From the opening scenes we get to witness how the fast talking sleek Gabriel runs hustles within the prison and from there the film entertains at every turn. He truly embodies a nasty greedy man who feeds off power and corruption and will stop at nothing to win.

That brings up Diggstown's best man, Hammerhead Hagan, the only fighter ever to actually beat Palmer during their professional careers. For con artist Gabriel Caine (James Woods), Diggstown is the promised land, legendary for its high-stakes boxing matches that attract high-rollers from miles around. But just when all looks lost, Caine whistles at Torres, gets his attention, straightens his tie and does a thumbs-down gesture (copying a move Gillon did earlier).
