About this deal

A Rugged, Highly Portable Cabinet - DBR Series speakers feature a compact, lightweight, and durable plastic cabinet which offers the highest level of portability of all Yamaha powered speakers. The sleek steel grille bolsters cabinet durability and protects the internal components while a newly designed ergonomic handles provide effortless transportation and system setup. Compared these with DXR8's, DXR10's, K8's, and K10's in both playing music through them and using them live with both band situations and solo acoustic environments. They are every bit the speaker that I compared them too. Are there slight nuances that are different? Of course... every speaker has its own characteristic. That being said the new DBR series speakers will provide you the same sonic experience as DXR series Yamaha's and the K series QSC's with a little less power and plastic rather than metal exteriors. (in other words, they will scratch easier) When you really start to crank things up a notch, it's good to know your speakers won't go pop at the critical moment. DBR Series cabinets feature built-in DSP Protection, which helps protect the speaker and cone at higher volume levels.

The DBR's lightweight, high performance Class-D amplifier is capable of producing up to 1000W* of power, achieving an SPL of 132dB, delivered with remarkable clarity and dynamic characteristics. *DBR10 has an output level of 700W. Custom Designed Transducer To ensure that the speakers have the highest possibly reliability, The DBR Series employs 3-way fail safe protection function that is controlled by DSP and ensures reliable operation of all internal components including transducers, power amplifiers, and power supplies. Yamaha are so confident in this system that they offer a 4 YEAR WARRANTY on the DBR speakers! Here's what Yamaha say about the DBR10 Active PA Speaker: It is because Yamaha is expensive in general. However, using a reliable brand such as Yamaha when purchasing a speaker is better . The company has also managed to keep most of the features in this low-price series. Yamaha DBR10 Sound Quality:An angle of 90 degrees’ horizontal and 60 degrees’ vertical is used for horn coverage. The base of the cabinet body comprises a 35mm pole mount. The body itself is molded and has a top handle, which is carefully placed. I got these speakers for small acoustic live gigs. I use them with a ZED 10FX mixer. We used this mixer and these speakers for a trio (guitar, autoharp, violin) to play recently at an outdoor wedding with 170 guests and the sound was fantastic. I had the DBR10s on stands with levels set to 3 of 10 (markings above unity gain) and D-Contour set to OFF. I tried them with D-Contour set to FOH/MAIN (bass boost to compensate for spkrs being on stands) and again with it set to OFF – everyone listening out there in pre-wedding tests preferred OFF due to a flatter sound for the Martin HD28 guitar (was a bit too much bass energy otherwise), and I preferred it to minimize signal overload (green SIGNAL light on the DBR10) which occurred playing the bass notes on my guitar. Still had plenty of bass with it OFF.

DBR Series speakers feature an optimized 50 degrees wedge angle for floor monitoring. In addition the DBR12 and DBR15's symmetrical shape allows for effortless configuration of a mirror-mode floor monitoring system in either symmetrical or stereo sound field setups. Easy-to-use Onboard 2-Channel Mixer High-Efficiency 1000W Class-D Amplifiers - The DBR's lightweight, high performance Class-D amplifier is capable of producing up to 1000W* of power, achieving an SPL of 132dB, delivered with remarkable clarity and dynamic characteristics.Yamaha use their own custom bass driver, comprising a two–inch voice coil and a 10–inch cone. This sits beneath a one–inch, horn–loaded compression driver, and both the tweeter and the woofer are protected by a perforated steel grille. A DSP is used to handle the crossover (an FIR filter) and speaker management functions, and the crossover frequency is 2.1kHz. You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. You might get many options when purchasing a speaker at the same price as a DBR10. Among those options, there is a possibility that you get more features as compared to a DBR10. Giving you the flexibility of using it for floor monitoring, front of house, or rigged applications, the DBR10- 10" 2-Way Powered Loudspeaker from Yamaha is capable of up to 700W of dynamic output via its Class D amplifier. The loudspeaker features a 10" woofer and a 1" high-frequency driver and provides a maximum output of 129 dB. An on-board 2-channel mixers allows you to connect microphone or line level sources via 1/4", XLR, and RCA connectors. Thanks to its ergonomic handle and lightweight design the DBR10 is portable and can be easily transported.

The cone is placed beneath a horn-loaded compression driver about 1 inch in size. A perforated steel grille has been used to protect the tweeter and the woofer. A DSP is utilized to deal with the crossover and speaker capacities. The cross-over (an FIR filter) is of 2.1kHz. The DBR10 is the most compact model in its series and in its class. Capable of delivering a maximum SPL of 129dB from its compact enclosure, the DBR10 can be used as a utility speaker in a variety of environments. I/O connectors - INPUT1: Combo x1, INPUT2: Combo x 1 RCA pin x 2 (Unbalanced), OUTPUT: XLR3-32 x 1 (CH1 Parallel Through or CH1 CH2 Mix)

Warranty Info

Sound quality is excellent. The feature of having a 3 position sound contour setting allows alternatives for boosting the highs and lows to fit the application somewhat, but it is not as flexible as having knobs for highs and lows that can each be adjusted anywhere in a range. I use the contour in the Off position - i.e. flat with no boosting on the speaker - and do my sound shaping on the input signal from a mixer. Sounds great, and I get exactly what I want.
