About this deal

Firstly, it has a top speed of 15.5 mph thanks to the 250W motor. This is the average motor size that you’re likely to find on scooters in this price class and although it’s on the small side, you won’t need to worry about it underperforming. It still has good acceleration and will propel you up to a speed that is fast enough for inner-city exploration. It’s also powerful enough to climb 14% hills, however, it’s worth bearing in mind that this isn’t the V2’s strongest area, so you’ll find yourself slowing down on inclines towards the max of its capacity. The competitively-priced GoTrax XR Elite is one of these. It’s the newest scooter in the GoTrax XR line and it costs far less. Although it’s a lot cheaper than scooters like the Model One, it still has plenty to offer, making it great value for money. Interested? Let me tell you more. Those brakes are a revelation as well. Going downhill on my neighborhood's 20-degree slope on a new e-scooter has always been a scary thing as a lot of them have average brakes. With the RS3, however, I felt incredibly safe and secure doing so, which makes me want to recommend it to both experienced riders and newbies who haven't quite mastered the art of braking. But, it takes more than that to convince folks, which is why NIU also slapped on amazing features like regenerative brakes, the always-on Halo headlight and rear light, zero starting (which activates as soon as you hit 200 riding meters for safety), and anti-theft.

The Elite has the longest range of all the 15 mph electric scooters, giving you around 18 miles of travel on a single charge. Most budget scooters tend to have a shorter range. It’s ideal if you want to bookend your commute with a stress-free cruise rather than a sweaty rush. The Vespa Elettrica is one of the more expensive options on the list, but its iconic retro Vespa styling with a modern twist might be tempting for die-hard fans. The Elettrica comes in two different models depending on if you have a AM or A1 licence, or how fast you want to go. Sadly, its battery can’t be removed and taken inside to charge, but Vespa claims that the battery can be charged in around four hours. If you want something that's completely safe to use in the rain, we recommend finding something that can survive submersion. That would have an IP rating of IPX7 or above. Glossary of electric scooter terms The outcome will be used to “guide final decisions about whether and – if so – how to legalise e-scooters fully”. Ordinary scooters are legal for use in the UK, and private and rental e-scooters are already permitted to use in public spaces in many European countries. The CUx is powered by a 1,300W Bosch engine, which makes it a fun electric moped to ride. It boasts a 40-mile range, making it ideal for short city runs or commuting. Super Soco suggests that its battery can be recharged in three to four hours when charged at home or work thanks to its portable 3-pin UK mains plug-powered super charger, which isn’t too bad if you’re mainly using your moped for short runs. The Apex’s robustness is all the more impressive considering that, with a net weight of 32 lbs, it’s among the top 15% of lightweight scooters. Its impish stature is great news for those who value nimbleness. This is one nimble model that’s a dream to handle when flitting across the city. There's no one best electric scooter brand. However, there are several that we've found to deliver the most well-constructed and great-performing e-scooters: TurboAnt, Segway, and GoTrax.

Hitting the sweet spot between fun and welcoming, its front-mounted 36V 350W motor spurts out a zippy, yet controlled top speed of 16 mph. Likewise, its acceleration rate of 0-15 mph in 7.8 seconds is fast enough to navigate busy city environments without being overwhelming. The electric scooter has a single button that can be used to switch the escooter on and off, toggle the headlights, and also choose between the scooter’s two speed modes. My favorite feature of this electric scooter is the two helper wheels attached to the rear wheel and the extendable handlebar. With these two features, you can simply fold the electric scooter and drag it around like a suitcase. It’s an incredibly convenient feature, and I honestly don’t understand why more scooters don’t have it. If you live in an area with rougher roads, this would not be my first recommendation for an e-vehicle. However, if you’re in a city with smooth roads, then this is the smoothest ride you’ll ever experience. And, unlike all the hulking electric scooters on the market that all share the same homogeneous look, this is a gorgeous piece with delicate lines and nice curves. Also, the electric scooter may have a long range, but the charging time of 8.5 hours is also quite long, so take that into account as well. Best solid tire: Glion Dolly
