About this deal

I've been eyeing this book since it came out, and c'mon, a former OnlyFans girl becoming the nanny for a single dad, sounds so entertaining, but the execution was just bad! The characters were boring, the plot was non-existent and the spicy scenes were carbon copies of one another. I honestly felt like I was in some Groundhog Day situation for most of the book. The writing didn't help either, it was pretty choppy, I'm honestly kind of surprised this was traditionally published.

Cassie is a 25-year-old in her third year of Grad School for Occupational Health. After losing her job as a therapy assistant in a Children's Hospital and having to downsize her living expenses, she is seeking a job to balance her schoolwork. Wanted: full-time live-in nanny position. Experience with children is a must. Free room and board. Serious inquiries only.” This steamy, romantic comedy puts a modern spin on traditional tropes, bringing the falling-for-the-nanny and secret-past storylines into the 21st century…Readers who enjoyed Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone’s A Merry Little Meet Cute will adore this positive, upbeat, sex-filled romp.”— Library Journal

Would highly recommend if you are looking for a spicy and sweet read with a single dad and some hot sneaking around 🤭 Every single chapter, I had to read their small talk and discussing their plans for the day. I had to sit through Cassie taking Sophie and her new friend to the zoo. I had to read about Aiden’s work crises, like scallions being left out of the refrigerator. I had to read sex scenes about the most two-dimensional characters I’ve ever read about going at it like robots reciting lines from some sort of AI porn. Speaking of robots, Aiden seemed to be malfunctioning and constantly repeating the phrases, “I’m trying,” and “Everyone’s a critic”—to which Cassie was programmed to respond, “Poor baby.” The same thing happened with Wanda. I loved her characterization and who she was and the dynamic that she brought to the story was next level. It felt like these two characters had more personality and depth to them than our two main characters combined. BUT if you're connecting more to secondary characters than the characters whose heads you have a front-row seat into...that's a problem.

When Cassie loses her job in the children hospital, her plans to keep a roof above her head and pay her school tuitions sound like impossible plan to her! She needs a job covering her expanses urgently! Her dreams come through so fast than she expected when she answers an ad for live-in nanny position and gets summoned to an interview with her future boss at the restaurant he works at. Ferguson makes the will-they-won't-they sing with complex emotional shading and a strong sense of inevitability to her protagonists' connection...Rosie Danan fans should snap this up * Publishers Weekly (starred review) * I really like the MCs and side characters. They are developed and somewhat complex. I really enjoyed how sweet Cassie is with Sophie and seeing Aiden figure out how to be more present as a parent. However, I never felt attached to them, and as a whole, they feel a bit generic. Many thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts. Also, this was a book about a chef that doesn’t cook for her once in the whole book. He does repeatedly ruin pancakes though, because he inexplicably can’t manage to get that right. And I’m convinced the author has never met a human child. The Nanny is sweet, beautifully sexy, and Aiden is the single Zaddy you want in your life. An amazing debut.”—Elena Armas, New York Times Bestselling Author Cassie finds a way to crash the walls Sophie built around and they become connected in a short time. She even finds a way to be friendly with judgmental Iris who is the aunt of Sophie, insisting Aiden is not a role model father! When Cassie closes her account and Aiden goes MIA, she desperately needs a job to avoid ending up homeless. Enter a live-in nanny ad for a 9-year-old girl. Guess who hires her? Yep, it's Aiden! Initially oblivious to their connection, Cassie faces a dilemma—should she spill the beans and risk her dream job? 🤔🤫

I really liked THE NANNY, but it is surprisingly spicy! The spice begins early and does not let up throughout the whole book. So keep a water towel nearby! The story is good, lots of twists that keep the tension tight, but nothing too preposterous. I really enjoyed the character of Aunt Iris as Cassie's foil. Iris is rigid, fearful, and difficult to get to know, but still a good person. She brings wonderful tension into the story. He’s a chef! He’s extremely hot! And Cassie feels like she knows him from somewhere! And interestingly after having her worst kind of humiliating interview, Aiden still wants her to accept the job and meet with her tough cookie nine years old daughter Sophie who recently loses her mother. ( Don’t worry! Aiden was not married with the mother of Sophie. They had an one night stand ten years ago and they decided to stay friends for sharing custody. ) I would be lying if I said I didn't read this for the spice. Someone told me it was very spicy and I needed something with a little bit of heat. But you know when something becomes spicy just because you have thrown TOO MUCH pepper in and not because you used exotic spices? Yeah, that's basically this... There is quite a bit of smut but it's pretty much 80% just bland vanilla. I hate stories where the FMC has no female friends her age. Like, why is Cassie's only friend an 80-year-old woman who's insanely horny? It's strange and unrealistic. I feel like this relationship is here to create comedic moments, but it's just cringe.

Ferguson makes the will-they-won’t-they sing with complex emotional shading and a strong sense of inevitability to her protagonists’ connection…Rosie Danan fans should snap this up.”— Publishers Weekly, starred review HOT. Yeah, the way these two met when they didn’t know who each other were only added to the steam. Cassie and Aiden had chemistry that couldn’t be denied. Their chemistry wouldn’t have been as hot as it was without the emotional connection between them. They brought something to the other’s life that was needed and were a great support for each other emotionally. Two wolf shifters agree to be fake mates but unexpectedly find something real in this steamy paranormal romantic comedy by Lana Ferguson. Cassie has to keep this secret and resist the charms of her boss if she doesn’t want to lose her job! Easier said than done because Aiden also cannot hold himself each time they are in the same room. How will they stop themselves before tearing each other’s clothes and let their high chemistry gets in the driver’s seat? What I loved about this book was Sophie, the feisty 9-year-old who's been through a lot and scares off nanny after nanny. 👧💪 Aiden isn't the picture-perfect dad, but he's trying his best. Finally, a refreshing break from the "flawless single dad" trope! 😄🙌year-old Aiden Reid is an executive Chef with an extremely busy schedule and a adorable 9-year-old she-devil of a child who ran off her the last 4 nannies. Aiden struggles between making time to take care of his daughter and running the kitchen at the fancy restaurant he works at. He's hopeful the next Nanny will be the one. Cassie soon discovers that Aiden is not a stranger at all – instead he’s someone who is very familiar with her – or at least, her body. Given that he doesn’t remember her, Cassie is faced with what feels like an impossible situation. As their relationship heats up, Cassie struggles with telling Aiden the truth, and the more terrifying possibility – losing the best chance at happiness she’s ever had . . . But Aiden Reid, executive chef and DILF extraordinaire, is far from the stuffy single dad Cassie was imagining. With those hands and eyes that scream sex, such close proximity feels dangerous. With no other option, she takes the job and moves in with him and his adorably tenacious daughter, Sophie. I'll insert another [oh] for emphasis, because while Aiden is basically a golden retriever in human form, but looks can be deceived because the words that come out of this guy's tongue in bed are positively filthy.
